Chef Angela Tamura — Italian Roots

Chef Angela Tamura learned her way around a kitchen from her Italian mother so it makes perfect sense that she is gracing our Chef Demo stage, showing us all how to cook a favorite Italian vegetable, the Artichoke!

Chef Tamura is the Executive Chef at Peppoli, an award-winning restaurant at the Inn at Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach. Sourcing ingredients from local farmers and ranchers, she creates with seasonal ingredients and cooks from scratch whenever possible even making her own paté, sausage, cheese and bread to use on the menu.

Angela has been in kitchens around the country, including the Rialto Restaurant in Cambridge, Mass., Bistro don Giovanni and ZuZu, both in Napa, Ca. While in Napa, she won Chef of the Year at the Napa Valley Mustard Festival. Plus, she has been the featured chef at the James Beard House in New York, two times.

With her love of Spanish and Latin American cuisine, including Mediterranean, Moroccan and Greek flavors, she’s sure to create something magnificent with artichokes.
