“Fresh From the Field” Farmers Market
The sense of community that permeates the Festival is at its highest in the Farmers Market building. It’s a place to meet neighbors and chat with friends. It’s also the place to find fresh, healthy, seasonal veggies grown right here in the Salad Bowl of the World, the Salinas Valley.
Of course, there will be fresh artichokes in all sizes picked right in Castroville. Get the large sizes for grilling or stuffing, or choose the baby sized for a delicious sauté or appetizer.
You will also find the bounty of the Valley’s fresh produce harvest— lettuce, spinach, cauliflower, broccoli, brussels sprouts, berries. Plus, as you stroll through the market, check out the selection of homemade “artichoke” goodies, such as hummus, pasta sauce and even artichoke shaped cookies!
The Market is open Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Salinas Room at the South end of the Fairgrounds
