The Artichoke Festival has set the dates for the 2022 festival, Saturday and Sunday, June 11-12, and is now seeking sponsorships for the popular two-day event, including “Heart of Gold” Presenting Sponsors for seven festival venues, one of which has already sold out.

Sponsorships allow businesses to promote their business to a local and regional audience, enjoy the benefits of getting their brand in front of returning fans, new attendees, and a community especially attuned to a generous and giving corporate culture, and support a longstanding non-profit organization that has been devoted to the youth of our community for more than 60 years.

A sponsorship will provide all of this, and much more. The annual festival brings the people of the community together with a unique celebration around a very iconic vegetable. With a focus around helping the youth of Monterey County, the festival has its eye on the future.

The festival organizers’ passion to give back is reflected in this year’s festival theme: “The Heart of the Harvest.” The hearts and minds of the organization are set on enriching the next generation — by supporting the programs that serve them, they help build a future in which youth will have the skills and knowledge they’ll need to grow and flourish as community-minded leaders.

As a “Heart of Gold” Presenting Sponsor, the festival’s top-level corporate partners will have naming rights to an event, activity and venue enjoyed by attendees more closely matched to their target audience.

Of the seven venues available, one, Farmers’ Market, has already sold out, but six remain and will go fast:

  • Chef’s Demos — operated by Partnership for Children, a nonprofit organization.
  • Wine Tasting — in the Salinas Room, a 2-day, 21-and-older, tickets-only event.
  • 5K Family Fun Run — held Sunday morning before the gates open.
  • Main Stage Entertainment — two full days of live entertainment.
  • Kid’s Zone/Family Stage — nonprofit Arts Council for Monterey County will coordi- nate children’s art activities and entertainment.
  • AgroArt Competition — veggie artists sculpt with produce for cash prizes.

Benefits for sponsorship package at $25,000 level include:

  • Company logo on all event publications and media ads as “Presenting Sponsor…” of the specific event of your choosing
  • Corporate logo prominently displayed with link on Festival website
  • Custom branded banner provided by the Festival Committee, displayed at associated event venue
  • Listing in our final Thank You ad
  • A 10ft x 30ft exhibitor space at the event
  • 48 Free Festival entry tickets
  • 8 vehicle parking passes
  • 10 passes for the Tasting Room
  • 12 Sponsor Appreciation Event Tickets

Also available are two corporate sponsorships, Crowning Sponsor ($15,000) and Elegant Thistle Sponsor ($10,000); as well as smaller sponsorship packages, including Green Bud – First Responder Services ($5,000), which helps fund first responder services at the Festival; Friends of the Thistle ($2,500); and Budding Sponsor ($1,000). And, because the Artichoke Festival is produced by a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, sponsorships are fully tax-deductible.

Thanks to sponsors and community support, last year’s event was a success — the festival was able to give back over $45,000 in cash donations to its nonprofit associates and partners. But the need for sponsorship support continues to be as important to the festival as ever. The Artichoke Festival can provide sponsors with the opportunity to bridge their own corporate-giving goals with the festival’s.

Now in its 62nd year, the weekend community festival dedicated to “The Heart of the Harvest,” will be held June 11-12, 2022, at the historic Monterey County Fair and Event Center at 2004 Fairground Road, in Monterey.

The festival will showcase the full range of tastes that the Monterey County farming community has to offer: artichoke cooking demonstrations by local celebrity chefs; a bountiful farmer’s market with freshly harvested produce from Monterey County and beyond; an artichoke agricultural education exhibit; live stage entertainment; family-friendly fun activities; and artichokes prepared in a variety of delicious ways, including the fan-favorite fried baby artichokes, plus artichokes steamed, grilled, and in unique forms such as lumpia, burritos, sausage, cupcakes and even ice cream.

Again this year, festival-goers will enjoy artichoke eating and harvest contests, arts and crafts vendors, a family fun run, and the ever-popular wine tasting event, featuring the wines of small production, boutique wineries from around California.
